Wangnamkeaw Flower Festival!

Last Friday we went to Wangnamkeaw, past the Khao Yai National park... long drive, but worth it! We went with our Austrian friends and had a great time enjoying the beautiful flowers. It was a great way to start the weekend and especially right before Sabbath, to think of God's amazing creation. :) Enjoy!

Walking along the paths we realized this was a big company sponsored event. There were booths everywhere for banks, insurance companies and even – the Toyota Prius!

Amazing flower mural / maze from above! It was really a lot better than I expected. I was impressed that we could actually walk around in it.

This photo above summarizes the overall expression of my life. Maybe both of our lives?

Ahhh! This was so cool! I want to grow pumpkins and squash like this!!! I mean, think about it, no lopsided, worm eaten bottom! I saw squash I've never seen before.

Look at the cool squash flower! And, the (ahem) sign below for people like me who wanted to see if some were real...

Into the flower maze! you can see the height of the lookout tower we were on before. It looks almost whited-out in the sun, because it was practically. It started to get hot. In MuakLek, it's been a comfortable high 70's, and I am literally and often thank God! But that Friday it started to warm up... maybe because we were more out in the open and not in the trees/hills?

At this point, I think the sun is draining us. That and the clusters of Thai people pushing through with umbrellas. It was wonderful though seeing the intense, concentrated colors of the flowers!

I have no idea what the kids were pointing at. Here's the flyer we got from our friend at the Blue restaurant. Check out the directions. It is totally always like that here. But we didn't have this flyer driving up there. We actually got there by following signs with red arrows and km signs spray-painted on them! True and crazy!
